Letter from Spinther to Zenon

(247 or 246 B.C.)

Some Government agents had made a descent on the boat on which Spinther was employed, demanding payment of the tax from year 39. Zenon is therefore requested to write and say what arrangements Petosiris is to make. Spinther adds that they have not received the pitch and that Rodippos was insisting that someone must render an account of this (?).
