Letter of Nicias to Argaeus

(244-3 (243-2) BC)

A letter to Argaeus froom Nicias requesting that two persons should be released from some public service, the nature of which is not specified. As the scene was Alabastropolis, it was probably connected with quarrying. The writer and addressee no doubt occupied official positions, but there is no indication of their rank.
